2009 Spelling Bee
Saturday, January 1o, 2009
This will be our 2nd annual spelling bee. We'll be running the bee in accordance with the rules of the Scripps National Spelling Bee and the Arizona Education Foundation. The winner of our spelling bee will move on to the Region 1 Spelling Bee with a chance to go all the way to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. in May of 2009.
Eligibility: The spelling bee is open to children in grades K-8 who will be under 16 years of age at the time of the national final (which is held at the end of May).
We're going to need a few volunteers to help with prouncing and judging. If you're interested in helping with the spelling bee in any of these capacities, please contact us and let us know.
2008 UPDATE
The winner of our 2008 Spelling Bee was Sarah Wright from Chandler. Congratulations! Sarah moved on to the Region 1 Spelling Bee held on February 9, 2008.
